Hello everyone and welcome to TeacherMoxie, a teaching blog dedicated to sharing my primary classroom teaching experience and resources. My name is Valerie Guerra and I am a Kindergarten teacher in a large Title 1 elementary school in Florida, with previous experience in grades K-3, as well as in ESE.
I started teaching a little over a decade ago, and I still am loving every moment of it. Along the way, I have learned—and still, am learning—from my mistakes, while striving to be the best teacher that I can be. I absolutely love to teach Kindergarten and I pride myself with challenging each kid every single day. I am, myself, a life-long learner, and have earned over the years a master’s in Education and am completing a master’s in Educational Leadership as well. I have high expectations for my Kinders, and so do I for myself. I continuously strive to improve, scout educational blogs, read research articles, and recently received a High-Impact grant for my classroom.
Besides being a teacher, I also am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mom to two amazing kiddos. When I am not teaching, designing lessons or blogging, you can find me reading, cooking, swimming, spending time with my family and… Driving my kids around to soccer practices, guitar or piano lessons! They definitely keep my husband and I busy!
